Community Buildings: Trustee Roles and Responsibilities

This training session will examine different types of trustees, duties and liabilities, charity law, good practice and advice on recruiting new trustees. The webinar is suitable for both new and experienced volunteers.
The session will be led by Robert Horn from CCS. This will be an interactive meeting, part presentation, part discussion. We ask all attendees to fully participate using both sound and camera so that everyone can see who is speaking.

Don’t Trash Our Future: Looking at waste management in Community Buildings

Find out how your Community Building can do more to reduce, reuse and recycle and how you can encourage change in your wider community too. From terracycling hubs to community food projects, Fixy Vans and Repair Cafes; our speakers will share the latest initiatives to help reduce our impact and how you can encourage your hirers to work with you.
Speakers include Julie Searle from Somerset Waste Partnership, Jinny Uppington from Resource Futures, Ali Sanderson from West Somerset Food Cupboard.
This is the last event in our EcoHalls programme, funded by Royal Countryside Fund.

Secretarial Duties for a Charity

The Role of Chairman

This will look at the jobs that the chairman should carry out, (and those that can be delegated) as well as the skills and attributes that the chair can bring to the role to help the charity to function well. There will be plenty of examples and the chance to role play a fictional trustee group. Whether you are new to the role or experienced and looking for tips and ideas, come along and join this session.
