During this second lockdown, many community buildings have been forced to close, savefor a limited number of exempt activities. (ACRE guidance on permitted activities can be downloadedhereif you have not already received it.)
District councils are nowopening grant schemes to support local businesses that have been forced to close for this four week period.Some of you may have been contacted already about this funding and, depending on your circumstances,may wish to make an application.
There are two fundsavailable:
Local Restrictions Support Grant
Aimed at businesses with a rateable value that was open before November 5th, buthas now been legally forced to close. The level of grant awarded will depend on theproperty’s rateable value:
- £1,334 for properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under;
- £2,000 for properties with a rateable value of between £15,001 and £50,999;
- £3,000 for properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and over.
Additional Restrictions Support Grant
This is a discretionary grant scheme and thedetailsare still being reviewed. However, this could provide support for those facilities that fall outside the business ratesystem, or that have remained opendue to the nature of their activities, but which have been severely impacted by lockdown.
