Trustee Vacancy: We are looking for an Honorary Treasurer to join our Trustee Board
What we need:

Trustees joining CCS will be supporting a dedicated staff and leadership team who work proactively and creatively together to make thingshappen.
CCS is specifically seeking an Honorary Treasurer – this role is so important to us – not only do we need someone to help us keep on track financially to ensure future viability, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future.
The Treasurerwill need to demonstrate that they havethe same values, the same ambition, and the same desire to help.
We are seeking someone with drive, enthusiasm and a real passion for what we do. You should be able to offer us your time and your financial acumen such that CCS’ financial controls remain on track whilst maintaining appropriate distance from the day-to-day operations. You will need to chair our finance committee, so experience of running meetings would be an advantage, as would knowledge of charity accounting requirements and charity governance.
What difference could you make to CCS?
CCS is at a pivotal point in its history – having successfully transitionedfrom a past culture of being grant reliant to a new one of being self-sustaining we now need to ensure we maintainthis.
Getting the balance right between investing to generate income and being lean and cost-efficient is a tricky one. Whilst we have continued to grow over the last 5 years, the charity funding landscape is and always will be, difficult and we will face even more difficult years to come with rising costs.
The impact we make on the ground for the most vulnerable in our communities is immeasurable and we are often seen as the “go to” organisationwho is willing and able to give pretty much most things a try – working in partnership and collaboration with both statutory and third sector partners. We need someone who, together with the other members of the board and the CCS team, wants to see this continue long-term for the benefit of Somerset residents.
